You choose the format under Output format on the Generate page, when you set up a bulk run or an automation, or with formats in an API call. To change what a visual editor or Typst template produces when nothing is chosen, open the template, click Edit template, go to Settings, and set Default output formats.
Things to know
- A PDF from the visual editor is an image of the design. It prints at the right size, but its text cannot be selected or searched. If you need selectable text, use a Word or Typst template.
- An image from a Typst template shows the first page only. Choose PDF for a document with more than one page.
- Word output keeps the document editable. Choose both PDF and Word to get a fixed copy to send and an editable copy to keep.
