Work with a task
A task is one run of a workflow, or one conversation with a built-in agent. Tasks in the sidebar lists every task, newest first. Needs you shows the ones waiting for someone to answer or approve. Click a task to see its summary, the work done and its files; open it for the whole conversation.
Follow the work
The task page shows what started it, then the work: each step as it goes, the tools it used, and what they returned. In a task with an agent, a grey line above a tool shows what the agent was thinking before it used it; click the line to read all of it. Files the task makes, such as a document or a spreadsheet, open beside the conversation as soon as they exist. Click any file in the conversation to open it there, or download it.
When the task finishes, it says what was done in a short summary.
Change a template or form in the task
When an agent makes or changes a template or a form, it opens beside the conversation, where you can see it and change it yourself.
- For a template, the buttons above it open Sample data, Code, Layers, Properties, Images or Settings on the right, one at a time. Download sample makes a copy filled with sample data, and Open full editor opens the template in its own tab.
- In an image template, click an element to open its Properties. Your next message is then about that element, shown as About: above the message box, so you can write "make this bigger" without saying which one. Click the cross to clear it.
- For a form, Add field and Field settings open on the right.
Answer when it asks
When a task needs something, such as an approval, a choice or a file, it waits and asks. Answer in the box shown in the task. With Email people when a task waits on them on in Settings, the people it asks are emailed too.
Correct a result
Extracted values are shown as a card. A value found in a document can be clicked to show where it came from. To fix one, click Edit, change it, and click Save: later steps use the corrected value. Save and re-run also runs the task again from there. A correction can be kept as a rule, so the next extraction gets it right.
Carry on
A finished task with an agent is not closed. Write in the box at the bottom to ask for more, change something, or start on something new; the agent remembers everything in the task. Files you add go into the task. Replying to an email from the task, or to the email that started it, does the same.
If a task stopped, because it was missing something or something went wrong, the reason is shown at the end. Reply with what it needed and it picks up from there.
Tasks of a workflow have no box: they run their steps and close. Run the workflow again instead.
