Automette docs

Plans and credits

Automette uses one credit balance for everything, and a credit is worth about a dollar. Each document you generate costs 0.01 credits, whatever its format and however you make it: the Generate page, a spreadsheet, a form, an agent or the API. A Word template delivered as both PDF and Word is one document. Work that uses AI is charged at what the AI model cost. For every price, see How credits are used.

These are free:

  • Previews while you edit a template.
  • Downloading a document again from History.
  • Collecting form responses. Only a response that generates a document uses credits.

A new account starts with 10 credits. For plans and prices, see Pricing.

See your balance

Open Settings, then Billing. You will see your plan and your Credit balance. On a paid plan you will also see your monthly credits and the date your plan renews.

To see where your credits went, open Settings, then Usage. Each line shows the date, what the credits were used for, and your balance afterwards.

When you run out

Generating stops until you have credits again. You are never charged extra without choosing to be. Buy more credits or move to a bigger plan to carry on.

Change your plan or buy credits

On the Billing page:

  • Upgrade or Change plan to choose a monthly or yearly plan.
  • Buy extra credits to add credits once, without changing your plan.
  • Manage billing to update your card, download invoices or cancel.

If you cancel, you keep your plan until the end of the period you have paid for.

AI

Asking Automette's AI to write or change a template uses the same credits, based on how much work it does: usually a fraction of a credit to a few credits per request. Building a template yourself or from the library uses none. Each AI request shows on the Usage page as AI.
