A workflow starts when something happens, such as a form response or a new row in a sheet, and runs its steps in order: make the document, ask for an approval, send the email, update your apps.
1Fill the enrolment letter with the form's answers
2Ask Priya to approve the letter
3Email the letter to the address on the form
4Add the student to the enrolments sheet
Every task runs the same steps the same way, so you know what will happen before it does.
A form response, a new row in Google Sheets, an Airtable record, a webhook or a schedule.
Each step uses one tool with the settings you choose, such as the template it fills or who the email goes to.
Add an approval wherever someone should look before the workflow carries on.
Run the draft on a real form response or file, then save a version and switch it on.
Make documents and images from your templates, read and check the files that come in, and send the results where they need to go.

People and apps
Most workflows are a straight line. When yours is not, these steps cover it.
Take a different path depending on the data, such as the amount, the country or the type of document.
Run the same steps once for every row in a list, such as one certificate for each attendee.
Run several branches together and carry on when all of them are done.
Pause for a while, or until a date, then carry on, for example to send a reminder.
Run other steps instead of stopping, such as emailing someone the reason it failed.
Stop the task at any step, as completed or as failed.
Each task shows the steps it ran and the files it read or made. The more you correct it, the more it gets right on its own.
