Design a template, or upload one you already have. Fill it from a form, a spreadsheet, an automation like Zapier, or your own code through the API. Automette generates the document exactly as you designed it, in the format you choose.
Using Automette, you can create templates to automate any document your business uses. Some of the common ones:
Invoices, receipts and credit notes with your line items, taxes and totals.
Service agreements, rental agreements and employment contracts with the parties and terms filled in.
Offer letters, appointment letters, experience letters and other letters to employees.
Monthly, weekly or one-off reports with figures and tables.
Certificates of completion, participation and achievement, one for each person.
Monthly payslips for each employee.
NDAs, consent forms and other standard legal documents.
Labels and slips for each order, with the address and the items.
Proposals and quotations with the scope, the items and the prices.
Company policies with a separate version for each team, role or region.
Discharge summaries and patient reports.
If the layout stays the same and only the values change, it can be a template.
Automette supports different types of templates for different needs. Whichever you choose, you can start from a template in our library, use AI to create one, or ask our support team to help.
You can write a document template in Typst markup. Typst is a typesetting language, so the document comes out exactly as the template describes it, which is what you want for invoices, reports, contracts and other multi-page documents. Output formats are PDF, PNG and JPG.
You can also use a Word document as a template. Upload the .docx, mark the parts that change with {{placeholders}}, and Automette fills them in. This is useful when the document already exists in Word and you want to keep editing it there. Output formats are Word, PDF, or both.
For images, we provide a drag and drop canvas where you place text, pictures and shapes on a fixed-size design. This is for certificates, badges, ID cards, social media graphics and similar single-page designs. Output formats are PNG, JPG, WebP and PDF.
Once you have a template, there are various ways to generate documents from it.
Open the template on the Generate page, type in the values, and download the document.
Upload a CSV and Automette generates one document for each row. You get them back as a zip file.
Publish a form and connect it to the template. Every submission generates a document.
Send the values as JSON to our API and get back a link to the file.
Put the values in the URL itself. The document is generated when someone opens the link.
Connect Automette to Zapier, Google Sheets, Airtable or your other tools, and generate documents from the data already in them.
If you are building on the API, see the developer pages.
Pick a template from the library or design your own, then generate one from your data. Free to start.
